This beautiful, elegant castle is the first world culture heritage site in Japan designated by UNESCO, and considered to be one of the 100 greatest castles in Japan. With its 400-year-old main keep tower, it offers traditional Japanese aesthetics as well as its historical significance. It has also been chosen as one of the 100 best locations for cherry blossom viewing, and presents the most authentic, classical scenery of Japan in spring.
After our visit to the ivory-white castle, it will be lunch time on Awaji Island. We will cross Akashi Kaikyo Bridge which is the longest suspension bridge as registered in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Awaji Island is called “Hawaii of Hyogo Prefecture”—it means the island is blessed with an ocean view and amazing food. Starting with a fresh seafood bowl or Awaji beef and onion burger, you will find a variety of local delicacies to enjoy.
Nothing is better than a delicious lunch in sight of the gigantic suspension bridge, don’t you think?
Next the group will head for Akashi Kaikyo National Government Park. Its most charming feature is its three-dimensional flower gardens, among the largest in the Kansai area. They boast different flowers in different seasons–tulips, hydrangeas, cosmos and Christmas roses.
The park also has a huge playground with 150 different pieces of play equipment. We are sure your kids will never have enough of it!
